Changes in the Situ Senior Executive Leadership team!

Industry News, Situ News

There’s never a dull moment at Situ as we push forward with our plans to further deepen our ability to deliver our ‘Booking Brilliant’ client and customer service, which happy days we are being recognised for more and more. Thank you for all the wonderful feedback, and to all our clients who trust us to look after their people on the move. Increasingly, the many benefits that extended stay accommodation options offer for people working away from home are being recognised – not least the brilliance of having your own front door to close at the end of a long working day.

But enough is never enough for us. We want to offer more, both in terms of the breadth and variety of extended stay accommodation options around the world, and choice in how clients want to use us. We aim to cover all bases, from fully automated, self-serve search and book solutions; through to high-touch, human-to-human bespoke service with one of our friendly Situ accommodation hospitality experts. One size certainly does not fit all, and our job here at Situ is to ‘fit your size’ not make you ‘fit our size’ fact!

So, in order to continue to innovate, grow, and challenge ourselves, we have exciting plans, including some changes to roles and responsibilities within our Senior Executive Leadership. So, with a big drumroll, we are delighted to announce that with immediate effect…

Phil Stapleton, our founder and all-round inspiration and industry guru will be moving from the role of Managing Director into the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO); and Rebecca Gonzaga (Becca) will step up from her role as Commercial Director into the position of Managing Director (MD).

In his new role of CEO, Phil will have more time to not only drive the global growth of Situ, but as a true expert in the field of extended stay accommodation, will continue to work collaboratively across the industry and have an increased focus on sharing insights, research, and data points on the sector through publications such as the Situ White Paper series.

We have Phil on record as saying,

“I am so proud of all that Situ has achieved. None of it would have been possible without our wonderful, diverse team who cover the globe to deliver the absolute best service and hospitality excellence. I am delighted to hand over the Managing Director reins to Rebecca. She has made such a positive impact in so many ways since joining the business and I know she is the right person to lead the business forward with her eagle-eye focus on exemplary customer and partner engagement.”

In her new role as MD, Becca will continue to build on her many achievements since joining Situ seven months ago from the global mobility company Sirva. With her irrepressible energy, expertise, and drive she will lead the Situ team forward in their relentless quest to deliver service excellence with their trusted hospitality solutions for clients around the globe.

We asked Becca how she feels about stepping into this new role and she said,

“Situ is an extraordinary business. Its deep-held values, hospitality culture, sense of ambition, and willingness to strive for new ways to approach old challenges is exhilarating. It’s been an incredible seven months and I feel honoured to serve our clients, partners, and our Situ people alongside Phil, facilitating and enabling our future growth as we become the most trusted global corporate living provider.”

Working alongside Becca in the Senior Executive Leadership team will be recently appointed Paul Lynch from ITV as Situ’s Product & Development Director; Rachel Maclauchlan as Situ’s People Director and long-serving co-founders, Amanda Mott and Jenna Stapleton.
