Interview with Diana Ong, Client Success Director for Situ APAC

We recently announced the opening of our latest international office in Singapore, a strategic location introduced to support the growth of both Situ and our clients. 

To complement this opening, we interviewed Diana Ong, Client Success Director for Situ APAC, to share more about her background and the expertise she brings to clients looking to expand into this key region. 

Q: Tell us a bit about your career journey so far. 

“I began my career in hospitality with eleven years in hotel operations before moving into the corporate housing industry, where I have spent the past eighteen years. I started my corporate housing career with Oakwood Worldwide and later joined a US-based serviced accommodation agency. During my time there, I progressed into senior leadership roles and ultimately served as Managing Director for the APAC region, overseeing regional operations, business development, and strategic growth. ”

Q: What industries and roles have you previously worked in?  

“I started my career in the hotel industry in operational roles before moving into corporate housing. At Oakwood Worldwide, I began as a Booking Consultant and progressed to Assistant Manager, Guest Services and later Fulfilment Manager. Later, for another company, I worked as Operations Manager and advanced to Managing Director for the APAC region.”

Q: What did you enjoy most about this work?  

“I most enjoyed building strong relationships with clients and partners while delivering high quality accommodation solutions. Working in the corporate housing and hospitality industries allowed me to combine operational excellence with customer service, ensuring a seamless experience for corporate travelers and relocating employees. I also found great satisfaction in leading and developing teams across the region and contributing to the growth of the business.” 

Q: What attracted you to join the Situ team here in Singapore?  

“I was drawn to Situ because of its growth ambitions in APAC and its growing presence in the region. Having spent many years in the corporate housing industry, I value companies that focus on quality service, strong partner networks, and innovative solutions for clients. I was particularly interested in contributing my regional experience and industry relationships to help support Situ’s continued growth in Singapore and across APAC.”

Q: What interested you most about the Client Success Director role?  

“I was particularly drawn to the Client Success Director role at Situ because it combines client relationship management with service delivery in the corporate accommodation sector, an industry where I have spent much of my career.”

Q: What are you excited to bring to the role?  

“I’m excited to bring a combination of deep industry knowledge, operational expertise, and regional leadership experience to this role. Having worked extensively in corporate housing and hospitality, I understand the importance of delivering exceptional client experiences while driving operational efficiency. I also bring a proven track record in building strong client relationships, developing teams, and implementing processes that support growth. I look forward to applying these skills to help Situ strengthen client success and expand its impact in the region.”

Q: What do you hope to achieve longer-term with the company?  

“Longer-term, I hope to contribute to Situ’s growth by strengthening client relationships, improving service delivery, and building scalable processes across the region. I also aim to mentor and develop teams, helping them perform at their best while fostering a culture of excellence. Ultimately, I want to play a key role in supporting the company’s strategic expansion in APAC and ensuring that clients consistently receive outstanding solutions and experiences.”

Q: What’s one thing you’re particularly passionate about in your work?  

“I’m most passionate about delivering outstanding client experiences and building strong, lasting relationships with both clients and suppliers, while ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently.”

Q: Have you always lived in Singapore and what do you love about it?  

“I’m originally from Penang, Malaysia, and moved to Singapore 20 years ago. What I love most about living here is the city’s efficiency, well-planned infrastructure, and its role as a vibrant business hub in Asia. Beyond the professional opportunities, I really appreciate the high quality of life, the multicultural community, and the energy that makes Singapore such an exciting place to live and work.”

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?  

“I enjoy crocheting, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. It’s a great way to relax and recharge outside of work.”

Q: Do you have a fun fact, hobby, or interest you could share with us?  

“Absolutely! I can make adorable amigurumi dolls and sometimes I surprise myself with my own talent.”
