Burj Khalifa

As of 2021, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is easily the tallest building in the world. It rises to a height of 828 metres – around 200 metres higher than the second tallest – and has 160 storeys.

Dubai has plans to build another skyscraper that will break the 1,000-metre barrier. However, until it’s constructed, riding the elevator to the Burj Khalifa’s observation deck remains the world’s ultimate skyscraper experience. The best time to go is at night-time when you can see a superb audio-visual display involving the music and the fountains.

If you go to the 27th floor of the tower, you’ll find the Gold on 27 Nightclub where you can enjoy one of the city’s best selections of cocktails in gold-panelled rooms while world-renowned DJs spin their tunes.

Al Fahidi

So much of Dubai is very modern, so for something different, it’s well worth going to the Al Fahidi district. It largely dates from the 19th century, although the Al Fahidi Fort is even older.

This area – sometimes known by the alternative name of Al Bastakiya – is a collection of narrow lanes, traditional Arab homes, small museums, galleries and food stalls. One of the highlights is the Majlis Art Gallery, which hosts regular exhibitions by superb native and overseas artists. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, glasswork and photography can all be seen here.

Jumeirah Mosque

One of the best places to visit in Dubai is one of the few mosques in the city that’s open to non-Muslims. It boasts a breathtaking white stone exterior, imposing minarets and an enormous central dome. After your 75-minute guided tour, it’s well worth returning at dusk, when the exterior is lit up.

Infinity des Lumieres

This is no ordinary art gallery. You might be able to see works such as Van Gogh’s The Potato Eaters, Sunflowers, Starry Night and Bedroom at Arles here in this gallery. They are presented as audio-visual high definition displays which swirl across the walls, all set to music.

Sonara Camp

Dubai has some superb restaurants, and almost every international cuisine you could name is on offer here. However, no dining experience is quite like Sonara Camp. This eco-friendly fine dining restaurant is located in the sand dunes of the desert which surrounds the city. The ever-changing menu is a combination of local and Western dishes. This place is perhaps best visited at dusk, as the sun sinks over the dunes.

Desert Safari

Here, you can go on guided tours of the desert surrounding Dubai in a safari vehicle, on a camel, on a quad bike or a dune buggy.

Their many packages include the Premium Evening Desert Safari, which includes dancing and fire shows, and a Middle Eastern buffet. Alternatively, you can try the Deluxe Overnight Safari. After your desert tour, evening entertainment and buffet dinner – you can spend the night in an air-conditioned tent, before awakening to the desert sunrise and a cooked breakfast.

Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

This aquarium has some 140 species and in its enormous 10-million litre tank, there are more than 400 sharks and rays. You can see the otters, penguins and other animals from a different perspective by walking along the tunnel underneath the main tank. Alternatively, you can dive into the shark tanks under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

Cove Beach

Dubai has many excellent beaches, but Cove Beach possibly offers the most eclectic experience as one of our top best places to visit in Dubai! If you’re not relaxing on the white sand, you can eat at the superb beachside restaurants – which specialise in seafood and grills and where you can take a dip in one of the three pools, or do some celebrity spotting. In the evenings, there’s often a beach party taking place on Cove Beach.

Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina harmoniously blends urban sophistication with tranquil waters, showcasing skyscrapers, luxurious serviced accommodation, and vibrant promenades. Yacht rental Dubai offer a luxurious approach to explore Dubai’s shoreline, allowing you to escape the city’s hustle and enjoy the serene Arabian Gulf while you are travelling for business. Whether it’s a romantic sunset cruise, a lavish waterfront party, or a day of fishing and snorkelling, yacht rentals provide various options to suit your preferences.
