Where is Eindhoven?

Eindhoven is the largest city in the southern province of North Brabant, bordering on Belgium in the south. An ample road network allows easy and convenient travel to Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Brussels and Dusseldorf, all within 140 kilometres.

The A67 takes you west to Belgian Antwerp or east to Germany and its large industrial Dortmund and Dusseldorf cluster. The A2 connects Eindhoven to northern Netherlands and Amsterdam, and continues south to Maastricht.

Invest in Eindhoven

The Netherlands rank very highly in terms of business climate among major European markets for many reasons. Skilled workers come from a robust university system and are highly proficient in English, while staff costs are quite reasonable. The legislation and regulations in the Netherlands foster innovation and growth.

Eindhoven is highly regarded among global leaders of technological innovation and has been named a major international centre of scientific discovery and invention. This success stems from the country’s long history of cross-border cooperation and the presence of major hi-tech players in the country, such as Philips, the gravity centre and largest employer in the region.

Cooperation between businesses and the Eindhoven University of Technology has attracted significant investment. Brainport Eindhoven is a combination of hi-tech campuses and enterprises known for its most significant residents Philips and ASML. Brainport Eindhoven attracts companies with a wide scope of technological interests, original equipment manufacturers, innovation suppliers, international universities and student teams, IT startups and research groups. Brainport’s outstanding infrastructure ensures maximum output, low competitive costs, and a controllable risk environment for its residents.

Technological campuses, such as High Tech Campus Eindhoven and Strijp-S create a favourable dynamic working environment where outstanding engineers, developers, and designers strive and create.

There’s plenty to take advantage of in the Dutch city, whether you are visiting for a small networking event or are planning to relocate your company here. Either way, Situ has a range of fully-furnished serviced apartments in Eindhoven that are available all across the city to cater to whatever your needs might be.

Living in Eindhoven

Eindhoven has a lot to offer all year round. Business visitors might enjoy an insight into the industrial past of the city, and the detailed exhibitions of the two most famous Philips and DAF museums explain the present success of the region. The Philips Museum tells an inspiring story of the corporation and unveils the impulse behind its transformation into the leader of the industry. The Van Abbemuseum plays an important part in the cultural scene of the Netherlands with its ample arts exhibition  – a visit is a must for art lovers. The museum occupies one of the most outstanding buildings in the city and is a major tourist attraction in itself.

Another important spot of great cultural value is the town of Nuenen, only 10 minutes away by bus. This town was home to Vincent van Gogh for a few years, where he created some of his most significant works. The house where the artist lived is the starting point for many pedestrian routes. The Vincentre museum recreates the atmosphere and lifestyle of the 1883 Nuenen thanks to modern technology.

Eindhoven is rightfully known as a festival city. Glow Festival is the most original and impressive, and pays tribute to the industrial heritage of Eindhoven. Artists and designers turn night into day with colourful light shows and fully transform the appearance and atmosphere of the city streets. Eindhoven is also a perfect place to try the famous Dutch herring, cheeses, or meatballs served at bars or street markets. When the sun comes out, you can join everyone outdoors, eat out, stroll, and bask in the sun. Grab a glass of wine with sun-dried peppers and cheese or an apple flapjack and relax.  Of course Situ's 'home-away-from-home' serviced Eindhoven apartments dotted across the city allow visitors to be within touching distance of all that the city has to offer.
