About Walsall

Walsall is a large industrial town in The Midlands, still producing the leather goods which it has been known for since the nineteenth century.

About Walsall

Walsall is a large industrial town just outside of Birmingham. Although it has had – and continues to have – many different industries, Walsall is most well known as a manufacturing centre for leather goods. Unusually for an old industrial town, this principal business is still flourishing today.

Business travellers coming to visit and stay in serviced apartments in Walsall will find it very easy to reach by road, as the M6 runs just west of the town, with three junctions serving Walsall itself. Regular train services run into Birmingham and the city’s international airport is about 30 minutes’ drive away.

Our serviced apartments in Walsall give excellent access to the town centre, which is becoming one of the Black Country’s most popular shopping destinations, thanks in part to a large amount of free parking. These apartments afford a level of space and comfort difficult to find in a hotel, and come with facilities that make serviced apartments a great choice for those working and staying longer in Walsall.

Birmingham Airport

The closest international airport to Walsall is Birmingham Airport, just over twenty miles southeast of the town. Next closest is the East Midlands Airport, which is instead considered a hub for regional and European destinations. Then there’s Manchester Airport, North England’s intercontinental aviation hub, around seventy miles north of Walsall.

Wherever you decide to fly from, guests staying in Walsall short term accommodation could have taxi transfers arranged from their property to the airports of their choosing.

Walsall Train Station

Situated in the heart of the town, Walsall railway station is operated by West Midlands Railway. Its trains run along the Chase Line and the Wolverhampton to Walsall Line followed and preceded by stations such as Bloxwich, Wolverhampton, Bescot Stadium and Tame Bridge Parkway.

The town’s railway station can be found outside Walsall’s Saddlers Shopping Centre and minutes from the New Art Gallery Walsall.

By Bus

Walsall is well-equipped to manage bus travel. There are two main points for interchange; St Paul’s bus station and Bradford Place. The main operator of bus services is National Express West Midlands, followed by Arriva Buses and Diamond Buses.

Visit the Walsall Council website to learn more about bus travel and public transport as a whole in the town and area. Anyone can book to stay in Walsall corporate accommodation which best suits bus services and stops they wish to be near.
