About Cincinnati

Why Choose Serviced Apartments in Cincinnati

Serviced apartments in Cincinnati are a fantastic choice for the business traveller who wants their own private space. Situ’s serviced accommodation in Cincinnati is well-maintained, with housekeeping services and on-site laundry facilities available at many of our locations. If you like eating at restaurants instead of cooking, you can go to any of the great ones in the city. However, our fully furnished self-catering apartments in Cincinanti give you the flexibility to choose.

Serviced apartments can also be much more convenient than Cincinnati hotel rooms as places to do business and short term stays. Guests have access to free wi-fi and some buildings have dedicated meeting rooms, or at least a dining area, where you can enjoy a coffee and a snack with your guests.

You can also decide whether you want a convenient city centre location or downtown Cincinnati , close to the office and the tourist attractions, or a quieter out of town location. 'Choice' really is the keyword here – you choose a Situ fully equipped, serviced apartment or corporate housing in Cincinnati that offers what you want.

Where is Cincinnati?

Cincinnati is in the southern part of the state of Ohio, in the north-east of the United States. Just across the Ohio River from ‘Cincy’s’ downtown area, you’ll find yourself in the state of Kentucky, and Kentucky towns such as Newport are considered to be part of the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area, as are areas of the state of Indiana to the west of the city centre.

Cincinnati has 300,000 people, but the whole metro area has 2.2 million.

Cincinnati has forged its own identity as a self-contained business location, as it’s some distance from the biggest cities in the northern US. New York is 634 miles away to the east, Chicago is 294 miles away in a north-westerly direction and it’s 398 miles to the eastern city of Washington D.C. Ohio’s state capital and largest city is Columbus, which is 102 miles north-east of Cincinnati.

Many business travellers change planes in New York or other major US cities to get here, as there are few international flights to Cincinnati. However, once you have arrived, ‘Cincy’ has a superb local bus network as close to three Interstate highways.

Business in Cincinnati

The Greater Cincinnati area is one of the largest city economies in the Midwest of the United States. There are some larger corporations to be found here, but much of the city’s economic success has been driven by its significant number of smaller businesses. Cincinnati has been particularly successful in supporting its sizeable African American community to become entrepreneurs. Levels of unemployment here are lower than the national average.

Large employers with operations in Cincinnati include Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Great American Insurance Group, Fidelity, Accenture, Siemens, DHL, and Deloitte.

The city has been fortunate enough to attract significant levels of overseas investment in recent years, especially from European countries.

Things to Do in Cincinnati

Cincinnati has a thriving cultural scene, indeed as far back as the 19th century, the city earned the label ‘Queen City’ in reference to its burgeoning arts and culture offering. At Eisele Gallery, view top-notch American and European art from the 18th century to today. Then in the evenings, you can take in superb live music beneath the ornate chandeliers of the Music Hall.

If you are in the city before Christmas, make sure to visit Coney Island Park. They have a long trail of lights that stretches for two-and-a-half miles.

Wine lovers should pay a visit to the working winery, tasting room, and event space, even Newport aquarium. Beer lovers are catered for as well, with many brewers having tasting rooms open to the public.

For fine dining, there are many excellent Italian restaurants in the city. To buy food in town, go to Findlay Market. Over 50 traders sell local, artisanal, and speciality foods there. The Market building is a great example of 19th century architecture in the Over-the-Rhine district.

Transport

By Air

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport lies 14 miles southwest of the city centre. It offers direct flights to approximately 30 cities in the United States. Some of these cities include New York, Chicago, Washington, Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New Orleans. It also serves Cancun in Mexico.

By Rail

The Cincinnati Bell Connector is a modern streetcar system in the city. Currently, there are only five vehicles serving the waterfront and downtown area, including the Over-the-Rhine district. The Bell Connector stops at places like Washington Park, Findlay Market, Fountain Square, and The Banks. Cars operate at least every 15 minutes between 7.30am and 11.30pm seven days a week.

By Bus

In Cincinnati, the Metro is a bus network, not a city rail system. Buses run until early evening on most routes. They go to the city centre and nearby places such as Blue Ash, Madison, Fairmount, Springdale, and Eden Park. On some of the most popular routes, buses run every few minutes, while others have something closer to an hourly service.
