Why Choose Serviced Apartments in Queensland?

Our serviced apartments in Queensland are a fantastic option for corporate travellers who appreciate having their own private space. Unlike standard hotel rooms, boutique hotels and luxury hotels in Queensland, Situ serviced apartments offer an unparalleled level of comfort, security, and independence for corporate guests.

Visitors can expect our extended-stay, style accommodation or short-stay apartments in Queensland to have a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, access to free wi-fi, and an allocated parking space, home away from home, much of which you’re unlikely to get with an ordinary hotel room stay.

Your apartment might also offer housekeeping and laundry services too. Of course, aparthotels in Queensland are also an option, where you have all the comfort and convenience of a serviced apartment combined with the facilities of a hotel, such as a reception, business meeting rooms, or perhaps a gym or day spa.

Luxury accommodation Queensland might include a swimming pool, tennis court, spa treatment and gym – just some of the deluxe facilities available in some apartments in Brisbane, Queensland’s state capital.

Where is Queensland?

Queensland is the state occupying the north-eastern part of Australia. It’s home to approximately 5.2 million of the 25.9 million people who reside in Australia.

The state capital is Brisbane, on the Tasman Sea coast in the south-east of Queensland. The capital is home to some 2.4 million, while approximately 600,000 reside in the state’s second largest city, Gold Coast. The northernmost city of any size in Queensland is Cairns, with a population of around 150,000. Almost all Queensland’s residents live in the far east of the state, with the areas further west being very remote.

Brisbane is 455 miles north of Sydney, Australia’s largest city. Within the state, Gold Coast is 53 miles south of Brisbane and Cairns is 863 miles north of the state capital.

The currency here is the Australian dollar and the official language is English, which is spoken as a first language by more than 80% of the state’s population. Mandarin – spoken by 1.5% – is the second most spoken tongue.

From most parts of the world, you’ll need to change planes in Melbourne, Sydney, or Singapore to get here.

Business in Queensland

Queensland generates almost one-fifth of Australia’s national Gross Domestic Product. As the state capital, Brisbane is responsible for around one-half of Queensland’s GDP.

The mining of coal, bauxite, and various metals is Queensland’s largest business sector. Many companies have their headquarters in Brisbane while the actual mining takes place in remoter areas of the state. Other significant industries here include manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, financial services, and real estate.

Some of the well-known companies with a significant presence in Brisbane include McDonalds, Suncorp, PwC, Deloitte, and Domino’s Pizza.

Brisbane is a great place to watch world-class sport. The principal cricket ground is The Gabba, where the Australian national team play regularly. The Queensland state team and the Brisbane Heat Big Bash League team are also based here.

Rugby league is one of the biggest sports in Queensland, and the state’s teams in the elite National Rugby League include Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans, and North Queensland Cowboys.

Queensland’s Gold Coast, surfers paradise and Sunshine Coast provide some of the best beaches, sandy beach, you’ll find anywhere. The family friendly city of Cairns is a city to world heritage - Great Barrier Reef, national park, scenic rim, Port Douglas, Daintree rainforest and tropical north Queensland.

In Brisbane you can really immerse yourself in the city’s cultural scene. The Cultural Centre on the South Bank houses the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, the Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, where regular ballets, operas, and plays to be hold.

Some of the state’s best restaurants offer fine dining in the vicinity of The Gabba cricket ground. Elsewhere in Brisbane, there’s superb modern Chinese cuisine, and a luxury French brasserie with red leather seats, a marble bar, and gilt-framed mirrors.

With the ‘Outback’ making up 65% of the state’s land area, you’d really be missing out if you only visited the populated areas on the east coast. An organised Outback tour gives you the best chance to see the amazing scenery, plant life, and wildlife of Australia’s interior.

Transport

By Air

Brisbane International Airport is easily the largest airport in the state. Located just seven miles north-east of the city centre, it serves more than 50 destinations, although few of these are what you might call ‘international’ destinations. It is possible to fly here directly from Doha, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Auckland, but most travellers arrive in Australia at Melbourne or Sydney and change planes there.

By Rail

Brisbane Central station has regular connections to outlying towns such as Ipswich, Cleveland, Nambour, Shorecliffe, Gold Coast, and Brisbane Airport. Longer distance rail services in Queensland include Spirit of Queensland, offering five weekly journeys between Brisbane and Cairns, taking around 24 hours.

By Bus

There are more than 400 bus routes in Brisbane, with services on some of these operating every five minutes in peak hours. Suburban areas with Friday and Saturday night services include Bracken Ridge, Cleveland, Paddington, and West End.
