Where is Leeds?

Leeds is based in the county of West Yorkshire in the north of England and neighbours’ other major cities such as Bradford and York. Not only is the city the largest in the county, but it is also the third-largest city in the UK.

It is, therefore, fitting that a city as nationally significant as Leeds has a direct connection to the country’s capital, London, courtesy of the M1. The city also profits from having both the Leeds station, connected by various railway lines across the country, and the Leeds Bradford airport, just a thirty minute drive from the city centre.

Corporates can choose to stay in aparthotels in Leeds either in the heart of the city or close to the airport to best suit their travel arrangements.

Leeds Businesses

There’s no hiding behind the fact that Leeds has one of the most developed economies in the UK. It is also one of the more diverse, covering a population of around 3 million and over 30,000 businesses. With the economy also forecast to grow by over 15% each year, it comes as no surprise that big-name businesses have headquarters based here.

The local workforce never ceases to expand either, thanks to the internationally recognised Leeds University and one of the largest further education colleges in the UK, Leeds City College, fuelling the next generation of go-getters. What’s more, there’s no shortage of student accommodation in Leeds to choose from.

The city also profits from numerous Leeds business parks; the hubs of innovation and leading corporate organisations. Apartments in Leeds make it easy for guests to be near the business park of their choosing, whether it be Lawnswood, Thorpe Park Leeds, Wellington Place or the Leeds Valley Park.

Things to Do in Leeds

Whether you are staying in long term, self-catering Leeds accommodation or short stay apartments in Leeds, any visit to the city should definitely incorporate some form of sightseeing!

Visiting Leeds with the family or friends: why not spend an evening at the Leeds Theatre, home to many all year round comedic, musical, dance and drama performances? This could follow a day of shopping and dining at the Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

Visitors to the city can also take comfort from the diverse, extensive number of Leeds restaurants dotted across the area, perfect for business meetings or friend and family gatherings.

The outdoorsy types have a range of beautiful parks and gardens on offer to them in Leeds too. Lovely greenspaces include Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s biggest city parks, the stunning landscape around country house Temple Newsham and the 55 hectare Golden Arce Park. Despite Leeds’ urbanity, there’s certainly no shortage of natural beauty across the city.

Other big attractors of visitors to the city worthy of mention are Leeds United FC, who play at the iconic Elland Road stadium, and of course, the Reading and Leeds Festival, deemed one of the biggest and most popular music festivals worldwide.

Whichever way you wish to spend your visit to the city, for business, you can always rely on Situ’s great range of open-plan Leeds city centre apartments to suit your travel needs.

Transport

Leeds Airport

Leeds Bradford airport is the only aviation facility within proximity, just under ten miles from the city centre. It is amongst the busiest airports in the UK, handling the flights of around 4 million people each year.

There is a range of Leeds taxi options available, meaning passengers can get from the airport to their luxury apartments in Leeds city centre within 25 minutes. The airport does not have a railway facility, but Horsforth and Guiseley train stations are both nearby.

Leeds Station

Leeds city apartments are perfectly placed to accommodate for those entering the city via the mainline railway station. It’s a common mode of transport in the city with Leeds Station being the third busiest in the UK.

The station is just on the edge of the Leeds shopping centre and no further than a 15-minute walk from the Leeds Town Hall and Leeds Beckett University.

Leeds Bus Station

The bus station, managed and owned by Metro, is ideally located in the heart of Leeds and is the largest of five stations across the city.

It's popular amongst residents and visitors to the area alike. It is commonly used by students studying at the University of Leeds (near Hyde Park) and proves to be a popular location to book Leeds taxis from.
