About Vauxhall

Why Choose Serviced Apartments in Vauxhall?

Corporates are spoiled for choice with the selection of available, upmarket serviced apartments in Vauxhall. Contemporary, fully-equipped, open-plan and most with concierge service; why would you want to book into a crowded hotel or busy B&B?

In Situ’s corporate Vauxhall apartments guests can live the way they want to, as if they are staying in their own home away from home. Whether you want to enjoy a glass of wine on a private balcony and watch the world go by after a day’s business, or spend the evening at on-site restaurants instead of cooking your own meal, serviced accommodation enables guests to enjoy free time as they wish during their business travel.

Wide-ranging, guaranteed features of each property are so important, as fully-equipped kitchens, free Wi-Fi, on-site washing facilities, allocated parking and ample living space all make enjoying a self-catered and independent lifestyle straightforward for guests. Remember too that being based at one of our serviced apartments in Vauxhall means that you are a mere walk, skip and jump – or rather metro, bus or train – from the centre of London and all the vibrancy, fun and nightlife the capital offers in droves.

Where is Vauxhall?

Just four miles from the centre of London, Vauxhall sits alongside the River Thames in the Metropolitan Borough of Lambeth.

London City is accessed via the Vauxhall Bridge, with the area a mere 10-minute walk from The Tate Britain art gallery and its 70,000 artworks in Pimlico. The Imperial War Museum in Lambeth is just a 20-minute walk away and for the London Eye or Westminster Abbey, it's just 25 minutes. The beautiful Buckingham Palace is a mere 30-minute stroll from many serviced apartments in Vauxhall, whilst Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament are even closer.

Invest in Vauxhall

Industry and commerce have been riverside bedfellows in Vauxhall for more than three centuries. The first car was built here by the Vauxhall Ironworks Company in 1903; a plaque marks the spot.

Today the same area is home to the huge Nine Elm development of apartments, retail and arts community spaces. More than £1bn has been spent on infrastructure alone too, including two new Tube stations (one at Nine Elms and another at nearby Battersea) and Thames riverboat piers.

Digital, technology and creative industries have taken over from light manufacturing, aided by Vauxhall’s role in the South London Innovation Corridor. They’re based at contemporary workspaces such as the Rail Arches and the former marmite factory Vox Studios. Apple is moving to nearby Battersea as well, whilst Vauxhall can still claim to be the home of London’s Beefeater Gin. Government and foreign embassies are also present in this small enclave of London, as well as M16, the National Crime Agency, and the American Embassy.

All in all, for whatever reason you are visiting the city, whether it is for a small networking event or to relocate your company, just remember there are many high-standard, corporate Vauxhall apartments available that can cater for your business travel needs.

Things to do in Vauxhall

The more energetic business traveller may well enjoy stretching those legs and arms at the VauxWall Climbing Centre, with its first-class bouldering walls. If outdoor sporting activities are more your thing then the lovely Vauxhall Park has tennis courts, as well as chess tables and even a model village. A much-loved community green space for more than 125 years it’s well worth a look.

Cricket fans will know about this anyway, but for the passing fan, The Oval (yes, that famous cricket ground) is based here in Vauxhall. Built in 1884, it’s the home of Surrey County Cricket Club today. Reach it by taking the tube to Oval Station or the Underground and walking for 10 minutes to those hallowed grounds.

Definitely one for the kids and families, the Vauxhall City Farm is keeping the ‘lamb’ in Lambeth with its selection of farm animals to pet. You could also enjoy a group stroll alongside the Thames by walking along the Albert Embankment. Reaching from Vauxhall Bridge Road to Lambeth Bridge, it’s a popular thoroughfare and great as a stress-reliever.

There is a host of contemporary art galleries in Vauxhall and its surrounds today too, including Damien Hirst’s award-winning 37,000 sq ft Newport Street Gallery. Others include the Beaconsfield, Cabinet Gallery, Gasworks and Amstel Art. Perhaps the most stunning building in the area is the former Drag/Burlesque venue and Victorian Music Hall. The Grade II-listed Royal Vauxhall Tavern is today the most popular gay bar in the area and well worth a visit for the architecture alone and atmosphere.

It is clear to see that there is plenty to do in this London borough, and it is for that reason that we recommend a long stay serviced apartment in Vauxhall, to make sure you don't miss out on anything that the area has to offer.
